Prof. Dr. Mustafa Güzel

Backround

Dr. Guzel graduated from Hacettepe University School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1987 and completed his Master of Science and Ph.D. in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry at Clemson University in the United States in 1996 and 2000.

He then started working in the Pharma industry in the US. Dr. Guzel has over 25 years of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Drug Discovery and Development experience with increasing responsibilities. The most notable one is that Senior Research Investigator at vTv Therapeutics in High Point, NC, where he developed leading drug candidates for the treatment of Cancer, Diabetes, and Alzheimer’s Disease. Currently, Dr. Guzel serves as an Associate Professor in Pharmacology at the International School of Medicine of Istanbul Medipol University and the Director of the Drug Discovery and Development Center. Dr. Guzel has around 80 international patents in the areas of drug discovery for the treatment of severe diseases and 60 peer-reviewed publications and plenary presentations in prestigious symposiums.
