Dr. Orkun Hasekioğlu
Backround
Dr. Orkun Hasekioglu received BS, MS (Caltech), and Ph.D. (RPI) degrees in Electronics, Computer, and Systems Engineering with high honors (Summa Magna Cum Laude), followed by his graduation from Fen Lisesi (Ankara, 1980).
Dr. Orkun Hasekioglu, currently Vice President at TENMAK and giving advisement to TUBITAK (Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Council) President. He served as Executive Vice President at TUBITAK, responsible for research institutions and international relations, member of the Turkish Science Council (TUBITAK Governing Board), and President of TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MRC).
He is also a member of the European Commission Joint Research Centers (JRC) board. He was a founding member of the Governing Council of the United Nations Technology Bank and is a member of the governing bodies of other international scientific institutions, such as a Member of Board of Trustees of HBKU member of the Governing Board of EU ECSEL, and COMSATS. He served on scientific committees, such as TAEK, CERN-Turkey research coordination committee, COMSTECH, and TARLA (Turkish Particle Accelerator Program).
Previously, Dr. Hasekioglu has joined research programs at the General Electric R&D Center, Schenectady, NY, USA, Moren Communications – telecommunications service provider- as Chief Technology Officer, NJ, CHEMI Inc., NY – advanced material producer for electronics - Vice President responsible from product development, and AIT Inc., NY, - engineering research consulting - Vice President and later President and partner.
Dr. Hasekioglu established several high technology companies in the US in advanced electronics materials (SiC), VoIP telecommunications services, and high technology engineering research consulting services.
He is currently involved in research on artificial intelligence applications and quantum computation in biochemistry and drug development. He is linking quantum mechanics and classical mechanics studies to artificial intelligence.
